SOUTH CAROLINA - Stephen Colbert's sister is planning a run for Congress, according to sources.

Reports say Elizabeth Colbert-Busch wants to get the Democratic nomination in South Carolina's First District. The seat is vacant because of Tim Scott's appointment to the Senate.

It's a traditionally right-leaning seat and several Republicans, including the state's former governor, Mark Sanford, are after it.

The Colberts are Charleston natives.
