Man arrested in early morning Colerain Township shooting death

COLERAIN TWP., Ohio - A man is in police custody after a fatal shooting took place in Colerain Township early Saturday morning.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Geordan R. Calhoun, 24, has been charged in the shooting death of Jordan Smith, 21, that occurred before 4 a.m.

A patrol was dispatched to 2911 Jonrose Avenue at 3:51 a.m. after receiving reports that shots were fired at the address. Police units found Smith deceased at the scene. Calhoun suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

Calhoun also faces drug trafficking and weapons charges, according to the press release.

He was transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center to await arraignment.
