CINCINNATI - Newly acquitted Casey Anthony may have sported an Ohio State University baseball cap when she was reportedly spotted in Ohio — but the university says she is just one fan in the Buckeye nation.
A representative from Ohio State spoke with TMZ and said Buckeye gear can be spotted just about anywhere, including not-so-favorable places.
"We are never surprised to see Buckeye pride displayed across the world," the rep said, according to the TMZ report. "Buckeye hoodies and hats have traditionally been spotted across the world, and we understand that as a result, our logo will be seen in a wide range of news situations, whether positive or negative."
TMZ.com posted photos of a woman alleged to be Anthony, wearing an Ohio State ballcap and glasses Sunday. Anthony's whereabouts have remained a mystery since she was acquitted in July of murdering her 2-year-old daughter. She does have relatives in Ohio, and was previously rumored to seek shelter in Columbus .
