OLIVE HILL, Ky. - A Kentucky mayor is stepping down from office after an arrest on drug charges.
Police charged Olive Hill Mayor Danny Sparks with dealing marijuana within 1,000 feet of an elementary school. Investigators say Sparks was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly selling drugs to an undercover informant.
During his arrest, police say they also found an open alcoholic beverage in the car. He was booked at the Carter County Detention Center but was soon released after posting a $5,000 bond. Sparks resigned his post after the his arrest.
