CINCINNATI - Maybe you needed the extra hours to boost your paycheck. Maybe you're hoarding comp days to add to your paid time off. Or, perhaps your boss said: "I need you to work." Whatever the reason you were on the clock this past Labor Day, we salute you.
This Facebook post got more than 100 responses (and counting) in less than two hours. We asked:
"LABORING ON LABOR DAY? Tell us where you work and why you're on the clock today. Or, maybe you'd like to give a hard-working friend or loved one a shout-out?"
So who's working? We heard from folks on the clock at:
- Great American Ball Park
- Dialysis clinic
- Home healthcare
- Assisted Living
- Grocery stores
- Horse therapy
- Retail outlets
- The airport
- Eateries and coffee shops
We also heard from people who are:
- Garbage collectors
- Senior care workers
- Delivering oil and fuel
- Delivering milk
- Small business owners
- Parking garage attendants
- 911 operators
And when it comes to shout-outs? There is plenty of respect in the Tri-State for:
- Men and women serving in the military
- Police and firefighters
- Pet groomers
- City maintenance workers
- Railroad employees
