Snapchat says no, "Snowvember" and a series of unfortunate tweets: the digital review

CINCINNATI - Snapchat was all over your smartphones AND the digital radar this week; so was an early taste of winter, a JPMorgan Twitter fail that probably made McDonald's say "whew!" and the launch of the highly anticipated PS4. Let's explore in this week's digital review!

Dislike, Facebook – The big story this week : would you accept $3 billion from Facebook? If you’re Snapchat, you wouldn’t. Here’s the rumored situation: sources are saying the popular photo-sharing app turned down a $3 billion buyout offer from the social media giants this week. That’s $3 billion in CASH, mind you. For a company that boasts $0 revenue, that’s…mindblowing.

#TwitterTakeover takes a tumble – note to brands: if you’re going to solicit questions from your Twitter followers and try to boost engagement, be prepared for the worst. On Nov. 6, JPMorgan took to Twitter to announce a “Twitter Takeover,” a live Q&A on leadership and career advice with a leading exec, on Nov. 14. The barrage came quickly. Using the hashtag #AskJPM, tweets like “Did you have a specific number of people’s lives you needed to ruin before you considered your business model a success?” rang out. Ouch. Reminds me of the #McDStories fiasco.

Make way for PS4Sony’s PlayStation 4 went on sale Nov. 15.  And people couldn’t wait to get their hands on the new console. Did you miss the boat on this launch? Check out everything you need to know about the new tech toy.

Snowvember – ICYMI – it snowed in the Tri-State on Tuesday, Nov. 12. When people got their first taste of winter, they were more than happy to bust out the cameras, snap some shots, and send ‘em to us. We compiled a Facebook album , so check out the pics your friends and neighbors were sharing.

Ice, ice baby – the cutest viral video this week? A little girl’s first time walking on the ice. Spoiler alert: it’s exactly as adorable as it sounds. Watch it for yourself .
