Attention monopoly fans! Hasbro wants to shake up their iconic board game in 2013.
In Monopoly's long history, game-board pieces around the world have been fought over between siblings and friends. "I want the race car!"
In fact, the majority of these game pieces were introduced as far back as 1935, with only the Scottie dog and wheelbarrow joining later in the early 1950s.
Hasbro excited fans worldwide by announcing their decision to kick one old game piece to the curb while allowing for a brand new one to take its place.
This is where it gets interesting; Fans will choose which game piece kicks the bucket, and which game piece out of their list of five options is added to the new lineup.
Which piece will go? The top hat, racecar, battleship, thimble, Scottie dog, shoe or wheelbarrow?
Which one will be added? The toy robot, guitar, diamond ring, cat or helicopter?
Fans have until Feb. 5 to voice their opinion on the Monopoly matter through Facebook and Twitter.
After the votes are in, Hasbro will discontinue the version of Monopoly sold currently, and replace it with a new version representing the latest game piece.
Don't worry, fans, you will be able to get your hands on a special edition, which will include all the old tokens along with the new.
