Marijuana found in 6-year-old's backpack in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Annapolis police say a teacher found marijuana in the backpack of a 6-year-old elementary student.

As the Eastport Elementary student was getting homework out of their backpack the teacher noticed a small piece of marijuana fall out.

After looking through the bag, the teacher found more suspected marijuana. The teacher then contacted school officials.

The child's mother was arrested at home. She already had two open arrest warrants. Her identity has not been released.
