GM faces another safety investigation over 2014 Impala

DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) - General Motors is dealing with another government safety investigation. This time the car targeted is the 2014 Impala.

The investigation comes after a driver reported that the emergency brake kicked on by itself right before an accident.

The investigation has the potential to lead to another recall.

The investigation is unrelated to GM's recent recall of 2.6 million older model Chevrolets and other cars.

General Motors is restructuring with the goal of preventing such recalls. The automaker announced it is hiring an additional 35 product safety investigators.
