MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Smoke alarms helped alert a Middletown family of four to an overnight fire, allowing them to escape uninjured.
WHIO-TV reported that the fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a home in the 2400 block of Saybrook Drive.
Firefighters said the family heard the alarms and called 911 after escaping the flames.
When crews first arrived at the scene, they said they could see smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the home.
Crews were able to douse the fire at about 3:45 a.m.
The family is staying with relatives.
Investigators said they have not determined a cause or damage estimates.
