Man arrested following crash

UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A 19-year-old man is under arrest after leading police on a pursuit that started in Fayette County and ended in Union Township, Clinton County, with a crash.

The Highway Patrol says Preston Bowman, of Washington Court House, Ohio, was driving a 2000 GMC Pickup truck that was reported stolen when Washington Court House attempted to stop him.

Bowman took off and officers in Wilmington, Ohio, stopped all eastbound traffic on US 22 at Wilson and Starbuck Roads due to the pursuit traveling in their direction. At least 10 vehicles were stopped in traffic.

Bowman was driving westbound on US 22 at a high rate of speed when another driver, 62-year-old Patricia Sims, of Sabina, tried to pass stopped traffic on US 22 and drove left of center, crashing into Bowman's vehicle.

Bowman continued westbound and the pick up truck struck two more vehicles that were stopped in traffic eastbound on US 22.

Those two drivers were not injured.

Bowman and Patricia Sims were transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital for non life threatening injuries. Traffic charges against Sims are pending.

Bowman has been arrested for OVI, fleeing and eluding and receiving stolen property.
