A 22-year-old woman is under arrest after escaping police custody and leading Franklin, Ohio police on a high speed chase Monday afternoon. Police say Krystal VanHoose was arrested for trespassing at the Pilot truck stop in Franklin around 1 PM Monday.

An officer placed her in the back of the police car, in handcuffs, while he investigated further. Somehow VanHoose was able to get out of the handcuffs, get out of the police car, flee to her own car and speed off. Police began chasing her.

She hit several cars during the chase until finally wrecked her car and it could not be driven. The chase ended at State Route 123 and Sunnybrook Drive. She was taken into custody again. The car pictured was hit during the chase.

Police were originally called to the truck stop to investigate a complaint of  a woman soliciting prostitution.

Deb Silverman is covering this story and will have more in a live report on 9 news at 5pm.
