Wow, I have never read such a bunch of off-topic comments in all my life. Come on people, the story was about whooping cough, not bullying, not snobs, not education (good or bad), etc... Is everyone ADD or what?

my children are in Lebanon City Schools now and the notices went out quickly and Berry School is the age group that needs the booster again, most parents forget about that one. I no clue what bulljuice is taking about I went to Lebanon city schools and never had any problems with them.

I'm not from a third world country..Oh, excuse me, we are becoming one! I do my research. That's why I am against immunization. Research the topic yourself! Don't just believe conventional Doctors. They make money from BIG Pharma! Oh, and BTW, homeschoolers rule!!!

We may be snobby (although that's one way my family and I have never been referred to) but it also appears we are well educated. I guess there is no other school that has snobs in it - just Lebanon.

LEBANON PEOPLE ARE SNOBBY!

twilson- how old is your child? The only reason I ask is that the immunization wears off at around age 10-12. That's why they recommend the booster (Tdap) this is the traditional tetnus booster with the Pertussis (whooping cough) component added back in. They started doing this recently because of the incidence of recurrence of whooping cough in older children and adults. Whooping cough is a horrible disease and your story further illustrates why immunizations are so important. I hope your child gets better soon.

Bulljuice 1 how can you make a blanket statement like that about Lebanon Schools? I went to Lebanon Schools as did my husband and both our kids. My son still goes there and my daughter just graduated from Miami University with Honors and a major in Strategic Communication and a minor in Spanish. We received great educations at Lebanon and she now has a top notch job. Whenever someone speaks so defensively and blames everyone but themselves, I automatically know that this person has issues. I would never say it's your fault you were bullied, but I do think you should have had parents that came to your defense. You can never blame a school system for being bullied and you better believe if my child was the one being bullied that I as a parent would make it my number one priority to solve it and make sure it has no lasting ramifications on my child. Something that obviously did not happen for you. Try not to be so bitter. It's a terrible way to live and I hope that you can find some peace in your life. We need to celebrate life and the many blessings we have (and we all have plenty if we really think about it). Blaming the entire Lebanon City School system for being snobby (what?), punishing the innocent, and trying to have more authority over my child than me, is a very silly statement. For one thing, the only way anyone is going to have more authority over my child than me is if I allow it. The mama cub in me would come, and it would not happen. Lebanon City Schools have done fine by us and I would never blame the entire school system for my child being bullied. The way the bullying was handled may have been wrong for you, I wasn't there, so can't say, but I also know that any outcome from that situation should have been handled by the people in your life that love you and are responsible for your upbringing.

My children go to Lebanon and any time we've had an issue we've ALWAYS been able to resolve it. I don't see the correlation between bullies and whooping cough, though... Maybe you should stop living in the past. All schools have issues and bullies it's just how you handle it that makes the difference.
