'White Christmas' Opens Tonight

CINCINNATI --  A holiday classic movie comes to life on stage Tuesday night at the Aronoff Center.  Irving Berlin's White Christmas opens a two-week run.

Performances run from Tuesday until November 22 as a Fifth Third Bank Broadway Across America 09/10 Season Presentation.

"White Christmas" tells the story of two showbiz buddies putting on a show in a picturesque Vermont Inn, and finding their perfect mates in the bargain.

The show is full of dancing, romance, laughter and songs including “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep,” “Happy Holiday,” “Sisters,” “Blue Skies,” and "White Christmas."

The cast will feature Stephen Bogardus as “Bob Wallace,” David Elder as “Phil Davis, Kerry O’Malley as “Betty Haynes,” and Megan Sikora as “Judy Haynes” in the principal roles. Also appearing are Lorna Luft as “Martha Watson,” John Antony as “Ralph Sheldrake,” Tom Deckman as “Mike Nulty,” Barry Flatman as “General Waverly,” Richard Pruitt as “Ezekial Foster,” and Sarah Safer as “Susan Waverly” and Camille Mancuso the understudy for “Susan Waverly.”

Lorna Luft, born to legendary entertainer Judy Garland and producer Sid Luft, began her career at age 11 on her mother’s TV show. She'll be a special guest on 9News at noon on Wednesday.

In the movie, Bing Crosby played "Bob Wallance" and Rosemary Clooney played "Betty Haynes."
