FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky landowners who think they might have the perfect holiday tree on their property are being asked to consider donating it to the state.
State officials say they're looking for a tree to decorate and place in front of the State Capitol. A ceremony is planned for the first week of December.
The tree will be removed for free in the last week of November and a replacement tree will be planted in its place. Stump grinding is also provided for free.
There are several requirements. The tree must have a pyramid shape and be full, especially at the bottom. It also must be between 35 and 50 feet tall. Landowners who think they have the perfect tree can call 502-564-5500.
