Suspended Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday to discuss his reinstatement.
9News learned that Thurman did not show up to the meeting empty handed.
Sources told 9News Thurman presented documentation about his rehab which included his appointments with doctors and therapists that he has accumulated since becoming sober seven months ago.
Thurman also reportedly showed Commissioner Goodell all the work he's done with kids, like Monday evening, on his birthday when he talked to kids at a football camp in Forest Park.
Wednesday represented the one-year anniversary that Thurman was suspended by the NFL after being a repeat offender of the league's substance abuse policy.
Even if Thurman would be reinstated, which is no guarantee, that doesn't necessarily mean he would be back on the Bengals roster.
The Bengals would have to take him back with open arms if he is reinstated, and that might not be that easy with Thurman's past here.
Still, Thurman almost won Defensive Rookie of the Year leading the team in tackles and was an integral component of the Bengals playoff run in 2005 when they captured the AFC North title.
Thurman is hoping the decision comes soon so he'll know if he will be able to join the Bengals in training camp which begins July 26.
