We're learning new information on the "person of interest" in the murder of a mother, her infant son, and a toddler Tuesday.

Investigators are looking at Mark Pickens, an ex-boyfriend of the victim, who went before a judge Wednesday June 3, on an unrelated charge.

Pickens is being held on an $850,000 bond for allegedly shooting the murdered baby's father on March 27 and raping the teenage mother, Noelle Washington, who was killed.

Police say Pickens has not been charged with the deaths, but he remains a person of interest in the case.

Washington's family say she dated Pickens briefly after meeting and working together at a Downtown Family Dollar store.

Pickens appeared in court Wednesday morning to face felonious assault charges for allegedly shooting Anthony Jones in March.

Jones was an ex-boyfriend of Washington and the father of her baby boy who was also killed Tuesday.

"Judge, would ask for a high bond. My understanding is that he's got a lengthy juvenile record. This was an ambush shooting where the victim was shot numerous times. He's (Jones) still permanently injured as a result of this shooting," said Hamilton County Assistant Prosecutor, Seth Tieger during Pickens arraignment hearing on the unrelated felonious assault and rape charges.

However, the defense attorney says Pickens didn't shoot Jones on March 27, 2009.

"He didn't run. There was no struggle. He was taken into custody. He denies this offense," the defense attorney said.

Residents in Pendleton and around the city say they want swift justice.

Darrell Sanders lives in Forest Park and was drawn to the memorial outside the victim's apartment.

"We know that violence is running through the city the way it is, but innocent children? Something has got to be done," Sanders said as he stared at the memorial of balloons, letters and stuffed animals.

The Cincinnati African-American Firefighters Association is helping the victims' family host a memorial vigil on Sunday, June 7. The vigils starts at 2 p.m. at Burnett Woods.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Noelle Washington and her nine-month-old son, Anthony Jones.

Relatives say the viewing begins at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8 at Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple at 1150 West Galbraith Road in Finneytown.

The funeral will follow at 1 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are pending for three-year-old Sharailyn Wright.
