LINCOLN HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Police are looking for suspects after a store clerk was pistol-whipped and shot in neck during a robbery attempt at a Lincoln Heights convenience store Wednesday night.
It happened around 9 p.m. at "Our Corner" store in the 9900 block of Chester Road.
Police say three men entered the store and told the clerk to get on the ground, then hit him on the back of the head with a pistol – and when they did, the gun went off.
Police now say the bullet went through the back of his neck and exited through his neck.
Police have not released descriptions of the suspects.
No word yet on the name or condition of the victim, but police say he is cooperating with investigators and is expected to recover.
