CINCINNATI -- Bearcat fever is hitting a day early as the UC football team puts its undefeated record on the line Friday night against West Virginia at Nippert Stadium.
If you see some of your co-workers leaving work a little early Friday afternoon, they may be headed over to campus for some early tailgating. Tailgating officially started at 4 p.m. at the Corry and Sanders parking lot.
The family zone will open at 5:30 p.m. at Sheakley lawn with special activities for kids.
The Bearcats are going for win number 10, a school record, with quarterback Zach Collaros getting the start. Collaros stepped in when starter Tony Pike got hurt at South Florida. Collaros has played very well since taking over, throwing for 1,100 yards, 8 touchdowns and rushing for 4 scores.
Coach Brian Kelly says even though Pike's been cleared to play, Collaros is his choice.
The Bearcats and Mountaineers kick off on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. The BCS national championship Coaches' Trophy will also be on the sideline Friday night.
Former Bearcat and current Houston Texan, Connor Barwin, will be signing autographs at the UC Bookstore from 6-7 p.m. Proceeds will go to honorary Bearcat, Mitch Stone, a local kid who is battling cancer.
