For the sixth straight year, U.S. Marshals conducted a successful installment of Operation FALCON, or Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally.
This year's operation netted 152 arrests in the Greater Cincinnati area and Southern District of Ohio.
The operation was a collective effort of 26 law enforcement agencies in one of the area's largest-ever fugitive initiatives. The Operation focused on the capture of individuals with felony charges, including sexual predators and violent criminals. In addition to making 152 fugitive arrests, the Operation also cleared 294 active warrants in the area.
John F. Clark, Director of the U.S. Marshals Service, said "the goal of FALCON is simple- to make communities safer." Operation FALCON consisted of nearly 90 federal, state and local law enforcement officers from 26 different participating agencies. Each officer was sworn in as a Special Deputy U.S. Marshal before the operation.
Since its inception in 2005, Operation FALCON has made more than 91,080 arrests and cleared more than 117,870 warrants. It is considered the largest and most successful fugitive apprehension effort in U.S. Marshals history.
