Police are investigating a school bus accident in the West End that injured two young students on their way to school.
The crash happened just after 8:30 Wednesday morning in the
750 block of West Court Street near Linn Street.
Police say this was actually the second accident involving the bus. According to officials, it all began when the school bus was involved in a fender bender with a car in the area.
When the driver of the car tried to stop the bus driver, police say the children on the bus began yelling that the man had a gun.
As a result, the bus driver allegedly kept going, failing to stop at a stop sign and eventually hitting a pickup truck. The impact caused the bus to flip onto its side.
Police are still investigating the accident and have not yet confirmed if there ever was a weapon involved. So far, police have no proof that shots were fired.
Police say there were two children on the bus at the time of the crash. They are reportedly students at Hope Academy in Mt. Healthy.
Both kids were taken to the hospital for treatment. One student reportedly suffered minor injuries and the other was taken in for observation as a precaution.
