BATAVIA, Ohio -- A trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Batavia Post used his cruiser to stop a vehicle with an incoherent driver.

The trooper was completing paperwork along State Route 32 in Clermont County when he noticed a vehicle traveling in the berm going eastbound.

The trooper noticed the driver slumped over the wheel and the passenger trying to steer the vehicle. The passenger began to honk and wave at the trooper as a way to get his attention.

Troopers say the SUV was approaching a section of road that graded downhill for about a half-mile.

As the SUV passed the cruiser, the trooper pulled out and sped ahead of it. The trooper pulled in front of the SUV and brought it to a stop.

On dash cam video of the incident, you can hear the passenger in the SUV say the driver is having a seizure and calling the driver “Mom.”

The trooper called for emergency personnel. The medics took the driver to a hospital for treatment.
