Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana are among the states with the highest number of child deaths due to abuse and neglect.

The report by the 'Every Child Matters Education Fund' finds that Kentucky has the highest rate in the U.S.

Indiana is eighth on the list and Ohio is tenth.

The report shows that more than 1,760 children are documented to have died from abuse or neglect in 2007.

That was a 35% increase since 2001.
