TWO IN A ROW

TOO SOFT
UC was expected to win this game easily. Toledo starts three freshman and a sophomore. But the Cats defense is still suspect. Toledo shot 48% from the field.

ALL CATS ALL THE TIME
ABC has announced that the UC-Pitt game on Saturday December 5 will be televised nationally. That's two weeks in a row for the Cats. Their game against Illinois on November 27 is already scheduled for national TV on ABC.
GOING TO CLASS
The NCAA announced graduation rates for student athletes and the UC Bearcats made a great showing. Of the top ten teams in the BCS standings, UC was the only school to top 70% in graduating student athletes.
LOVE THAT LARRY
Larry Johnson began practicing with the Bengals on Wednesday. Nobody seemed to mind his presence in the locker room. According to Carson Palmer, "the best teams are run by the players as far as keeping guys under control, making sure guys are working, making sure guys are in the right places at the right time." In other words, the leadership is strong enough in the locker room to counter any negative vibes that might come with the Johnson acquisition.
CEDRIC FEELS GOOD
Cedric Benson didn't practice with the team on Wednesday but he says his hip injury isn't serious. It just needs treatment and rest. He has no timetable for his return.
THE FEATURED BACK
Cedric was asked if he feels he's still the Bengals featured back. He replied "In most cases you hold your fate in your own hands. I'm not letting up in any aspect of what I do. I would imagine I'll continue to be the first guy, and if not, I'll make it that way."
GREAT SCOTT
Bengals rookie Bernard Scott Wednesday was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the week. He returned a kickoff 96 yard for a touchdown against the Steelers.
RAIDERS BENCH RUSSELL
The Oakland Raiders say they'll bench former number one overall pick Jamarcus Russell when they play the Bengals on Sunday. They'll start Bruce Gradkowski instead and he'll start the rest of the season. Gradkowski started and beat the Bengals as the Tampa Bay quarterback in 2006.
ON THE ICE
The Trenton Devils battled back from a 2-0 deficit and netted four unanswered goals to claim a 4-2 win over the Cyclones Wednesday night. The Cyclones are 6-5-1.
THEY'RE SAYING "LOUUUUUUUUUU"
Former Reds Manager Lou Piniella will attend Redsfest on Friday December 4. Lou and the 1990 World Series Championship team will be introduced on the main stage at 6:30pm.
TURNAROUND TRACY
Colorado Rockies manager Jim Tracy was named the National League's manager of the year. He took over a floudering team in late May and guided the Rockies to the NL Wild Card. Jim is a native of Hamilton and a graduate of Hamilton Badin High School. Mike Scioscia was named the American League's top manager.
