Good Morning...It's November 2, 2009

BIG HIT FOR A-ROD
Alex Rodriguez delivered a two-out double in the ninth inning against Brad Lidge as the Yankees beat the Phils Sunday night 7-4.  The Yanks lead the series 3-1.

RUSTY LIDGE
I heard the ESPN announcers Saturday night fearing how Lidge would pitch when he got into a game.  He hasn't had any save opportunities, but the analysts felt he should have pitched an inning in Saturday's loss just to get rid of the rust.

SCRATCHING IT OUT
The winning runs came with two outs in the ninth.  Damon singled off Lidge, then he stole second and went to third when nobody covered the bag. Lidge hit Mark Teixeira.  Then came the A-Rod double into the left-field corner for the lead.

HE HAS HIS NUMBER
A-Rod had faced Lidge three times before Sunday. He had a home run and a double.

MONDAY NIGHT CLINCHER
The Yanks try to win their 27th championship tonight.
Cliff Lee goes against AJ Burnett

ABC has picked the UC-Connecticut game as one of its three regional primetime games for next Saturday night.  It's an 8 p.m kickoff, the first time ABC has telecast a game out of Nippert Stadium.  You'll see it on Channel 9.

SPANNING THE GLOBE
Here's the three regional games that ABC picked for Saturday.  It's USC and Arizona State, Nebraska and Oklahoma and UC and Connecticut.  That's a pretty good three-way split of the USA.  It's not know yet how much of the country will see the Bearcats

POLLING PLACES
The Bearcats improved to fifth in the latest BCS Series
standings that were announced on Sunday. The top five are Florida, Texas, Alabama, Iowa and UC.
UC moved up to fourth in the AP poll and they stayed at #7 in the USA Today coaches poll.
