CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Recreation Commission served meals this Thanksgiving at the Bush Community Center in Walnut Hills.
The feast started around noon and ran for three hours.
The event started 17 years ago after Stella Barnes saw something that broke her heart.
"Well, 17 years ago when I was on my way to eat dinner with my family,” Barnes recalled. “I saw a man eating in the trash can and I said that no more would I eat dinner ‘til we fed someone else."
CRC also gave away clothes and other things in goodie bags.
