RISING SUN, Ind. -- An Indiana judge has ruled a 17-year-old boy being held in connection with the death of his brother will remain in juvenile custody
Tuesday's detention hearing was closed to the public because the suspect is a juvenile.
The 17-year-old is currently charged with a felony count of battery that resulted in serious physical harm.
The teen was moved from the Juvenile Detention Center in Lawrenceburg to the Ohio County Courthouse in Rising Sun.
On Sunday night, an Ohio County Sheriff's deputy found the body of 10-year-old Conner Conley in a wooded area near the Rising Sun city park.
9News confirmed that it was the victim's brother that's being held in connection with the boy's death.
The lead detective in the case understands people in Rising Sun are concerned but says this was an isolated incident.
"I think that we are on the right direction with this case and we don't want people to stay awake at night for their concerns for their families. The kids at school I think had some concerns about safety issues and they've been assured they are going to be ok," said Detective Tom Baxter of Indiana State Police.
An autopsy was performed on tuesday in Indianapolis but the preliminary results are not being released at this time.
Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard says the case remains under investigation and charges could be amended at any time.
The teen suspect returns to court for another hearing on Dec. 4th.
The brother's name is not being released because of his age.
