The crown of the Statue of Liberty reopens to tourists this Fourth of July.

It was closed after the terrorist attacks on 9-11.

The National Park Service closed the attraction to the public because it would be difficult for visitors to evacuate during an emergency.

As in the past, visitors must climb a narrow 168-step spiral staircase to get to the crown.
