HENDERSON, Ky. (AP) -- A new study reports the most tornado-prone spot in Kentucky is near the small community of Maxwell. The area in eastern McLean County is about 30 miles east of Henderson.

The Gleaner reports VorTek, a small research and engineering company, analyzed National Weather Service data from 1950 through 2007.

The Huntsville, Ala.-based company says 32 tornado track
segments touched down or passed within 20 miles of Maxwell.
VorTek develops software that assesses tornado threats.
