A case of wrong place, wrong time likely led to the arrest of a man in Colerain Township Tuesday morning.

Officers with Colerain Police responded to the 4200 block of Defender Drive around 1:15 a.m. to investigate a report of shots fired.

During the investigation, they allegedly found 24-year-old Michael Hamilton behind a building.  When police confronted him, he allegedly dropped two bags; one containing Percocet pills, the other marijuana.

He's facing two counts of possession as a result, as well as other less-serious outstanding charges.

There are no reports of injuries in the shooting, and police do not believe Hamilton was involved in the incident.
