A man shot in Avondale early Tuesday morning told police the suspects stole his pants before pulling the trigger.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. outside an apartment building at 518 Hale Avenue.

When police arrived on the scene, the victim explained that he was sitting on a stoop outside his apartment building when two men pulled up in a car and ordered him to take off his pants.

The victim told police he complied and gave his pants to the suspects. He says the suspects then ordered him to return to his apartment, but when he turned around and walked away, one of the men shot him in the back.

The victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Crews took him to University Hospital. His name has not been released.

The suspects drove away and no arrests have been made.
