FAIRFIELD, Ohio -- A shooting outside of a day care center that left two people dead has been ruled a homicide-suicide, according to the Butler County Coroner's Office.
The bodies of Evelyn Restituyo, 46, and Francisco Restituyo, 47, were found in a vehicle outside of the Jelly Bean Junction on Winton Road Monday morning.
Fairfield police say Evelyn was found in the backseat bound and tied up. She was shot once in the head and once in the thigh, according to police. Her death has been ruled as a homicide.
Francisco was found in the front seat with one gunshot wound to the head. His death has been ruled a suicide.
Police believe Francisco confronted Evelyn outside of an outlet store where she worked and shot her in the thigh. Investigators believe he then drove her several miles to the day care center where he fatally shot her then himself.
Investigators say they had been married before but were not living together at the time of the shootings. Evelyn was living in Colerain Township while Francisco was living in Liberty Township.
They did, however, leave Evelyn's home in separate cars early Monday morning, according to detectives with the Fairfield Police Department. They also say Francisco was living with another person for several years.
Police have not released any other information.
