A sanitation worker is recovering after he was sprayed with some kind of chemical in Silverton Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Red Bank Road near Daniel Drake Park around 10 a.m.

Police say the man was picking up trash when a liquid sprayed out from the garbage.

Crews put the man into a protective suit as a precaution.

He was walking around before he was transported to University Hospital.

His name has not been released.
