A familiar sound will soon be heard around the Tri-State.

The Salvation Army and the Cincinnati Bengals will kick-off the annual red kettle campaign in conjunction with the Bengals game on november 30 at Paul Brown Stadium.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to "bring a buck or more" to help those in need this holiday season. Last year, the kettle drive raised $473,000 locally. The goal this year is $550,000.

“The Salvation Army relies upon the generosity of its contributors to allow us to bring hope to those we serve everyday,” said the Salvation Army's Major Ronald Foreman. “Greater Cincinnati is a community of families and values,” continued Major Foreman, “and I’m encouraged that many in this community want to help. We need their support in a year when many are facing increased financial hardship.”

A new twist this year - some kettles will allow people to donate through the use of a debit or credit card. Select locations will have kettles set up with card readers to allow those who don't carry cash to be able to contribute.
