Layoffs at Cincinnati Enquirer are hitting many employees today, including David Wells, the editorial page editor of the newspaper.
CityBeat reported on their
Web site that Wells was let go Wednesday, July 8, along with an unidentified number employees from the Enquirer's digital department.
Wells, who has worked at the Cincinnati Enquirer for about 35 years, was the editorial page editor since December 2002, according to the Enquirer's
employee bio.
Wells wrote editorials, a weekly column and had a blog called
Thinking Out Loud.
Mark Woodruff, Vice President of Marketing Development could not confirm Wells' release and did not want to discuss personnel issues at this time, nor would he comment on other layoffs at the newspaper.
Calls to Wells and other Cincinnati Enquirer representatives were not answered immediately.
