Police in Northern Kentucky remain on the lookout for three inmates who escaped from an Indiana prison Monday.

Bobby Cockerell, Christopher Marshall and Jerry Sargent remain on the run Tuesday.

Police describe them as heavily armed and dangerous.

A relative of Jerry Sargent who did not wish to be identified says that several family members are in hiding and staying at an undisclosed location including Sargent's sister and mother out of fear for their safety.

The relative says Sargent has expressed his anger for his sister because she turned him into police in the past.

The last time anyone saw the three inmates was Monday morning around 11:30 a.m.

That's when police say the three inmates violently attacked three brothers at their home on KY 36.

They removed 10 weapons and stole thousands in cash.

Troopers say that there haven't been any sightings since.

"We believe they are lying low," said Trooper Rick Saint-Blancard.

Police in neighboring states of Kentucky have been warned to be on the look out for the 1998 dull-green pick-up truck the suspects were last seen driving in Carroll County.
