The Cincinnati Reds have improved the quality of their team without making a trade.

The team announced Friday that Edwin Encarnacion has been reinstated from the 60-day disabled list. He takes the roster spot of Danny Richar, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Richar suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder sliding head first into home plate during Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Encarnacion had been on the disabled list since April 28 with a chip fracture in his left wrist.

The Reds also announced that Friday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals has sold out. As of 4 p.m., tickets for Saturday's game are still available.
