The family of two-year-Cecilia Slaby, who died last week after being left inside her mother's hot SUV for eight hours, has held private funeral and burial services.
The child died after being left inside her mother's hot car for eight hours.
The vehicle was parked behind Glen Este Middle School, where Brenda Slaby is an Assistant Principal.
She's currently on indefinite, paid administrative leave.
Larry Schildmeyer of The Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home confirmed the private burial.
Clermont County Prosecutor Don White has not decided whether charges will be sought in the case.
The matter was not presented to a Clermont County Grand Jury on Wednesday because White wants more time to gather information about the case.
Legal experts say a charge of child endangering would likely be the closest statute that applies to the case.
However, it requires an element of "recklessness" – conscious disregard of a risk.
If evidence shows that Brenda Slaby leaving her daugther Cecelia in the car was an accident, not a reckless act, child endangering might not be applicable.
