President Obama's approval rating in the swing-state of Ohio has dropped dramatically since his inauguration, according to a new poll.
A Quinnipiac University poll released this week shows the President currently has a 49 percent approval rating in the Buckeye State, down significantly from 62 percent approval in a survey in early May.
The 49 percent figure is significant because it is the lowest approval rating since he took office in January.
The issue for the Obama administration in Ohio is likely the economy.
"The economy in Ohio is as bad as anywhere in America. These numbers indicate that, for the first time, voters have decided that President Barack Obama bears some responsibility for their problems," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
