What I told my daughter was this guy isn't the ONLY freak out there. If we teach our children to be caucious and aware of their surroundings it helps. If he is the guy great, if not that we just have to stick together and give our children the best tools and information we can. There are FREAKS everywhere, I wish they could catch them all.

He will get a slap on the wrist. Crimes against children often result in misdemeanor charges. They always get back out. I'm so glad no one ever messed with my children because I would be stuck in prison too for what I would have done to the person. You can't rely on the justice system to punish these sick SOB's. Whats a parent to do?

Ok what if he is just like Kirkland I certainly think he should be detained, put in line up, given a lie detector test, or whatever just dont let another one slip through the cracks. If he is not guilty of this act then he will be set free.

feh42, I read your comment 3 times and it finally soaked in. WHAT IF this isn't the right guy? There are lots of rusty white vans that are old and squeaky. And I am sure lots of them are driven by men who fit that general description. So what I am asking is this: DO they truly have the RIGHT guy? Because if they DON'T.........we all know what will happen. I guess the only way to be sure is to have the child pick him out of a lineup, although I'd hate to put a child thru that, but seeing how that child handled this so well, I think he'd be a great help here. We need to be sure he IS the right guy. He still deserves the punishment I listed in my 7:16 comment. Simply because of his prior conviction. And they need to be 100% sure this is indeed the right guy. Otherwise, I am afraid that the next time, the child may not be so lucky. God help our children. This world has gotten so dangerous.

I think if we did this to these sick pervs, guarantee this heinous type of crime would nearly cease.
