The Warren County Sheriff's Office says a man has been arrested in connection with a child enticement in Deerfield Township earlier this week.
Lonnie Gene Kennedy, 54, of Amelia, was taken into custody in Clermont County Thursday afternoon. He has been charged with criminal child enticement.
Investigators say Kennedy approached an 11-year-old boy at a school bus stop on Stony Hollow Court on Monday and asked the child if he would like to get in his van. The child refused and Kennedy left the scene as a school bus was approaching.
According to the sheriff's office, the incident in Deerfield Township is similar to other child enticement cases reported in Clermont County back in February.
Investigators have not said whether Kennedy is connected to the other child enticement cases.
Gene was convicted of rape in Kentucky in 1982. That case involved a minor.
Because of that conviction, Kennedy's charge in this recent case is a 5th degree felony.
He is currently behind bars in the Warren County Jail
