The autopsy has been completed on a burned body found in Campbell County over the weekend.

Campbell County Police have identified the victim as 28-year-old Shawn Davis.

Police Chief Keith Hill says they received help from his mother who recognized a tattoo on his arm.

"He was recently reported missing from the Northern Kentucky area, so it fits the timeline when we thought at the beginning of this that it was somebody who recently gone missing and that is exactly what happened," said Chief Hill.

According to Hill, Davis' body was burned post-mortem.

Campbell County firefighters discovered his body after they extinguished a small fire under the Dodsworth Lane Bridge near Silver Grove around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators are treating the case as a homicide.

According to police, Davis was arrested in Kenton County on drug-related charges in May 2008.
