The Extreme crew has been working around the clock to finish remodeling the home of Ginger and Greg Akers in time for the big reveal on Thursday.
Not even darkness was a match for the team as workers worked to pour concrete for the pool and driveway in the early morning hours Monday, using large lights to illuminate the work site.
Supplies stored in the home's garage hinted toward projects to be completed later in the day; installing hardwood floors and painting the interior of the home.
Crews working on the Akers' home were trying to move as fast as they could while remaining focused when a surprise visitor stopped by the work site Monday morning.
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland arrived at the West Chester home as crews were busy installing gutters.
Governor Strickland took time to talk with volunteers and even played a game of cornhole with Michael and Paige from the show.
The governor was impressed with the work completed so far.
"To think that 25,000 people wrote letters urging Extreme Makeover to consider this family, it's just very exciting. Ohio's a great place. There's a sense of community here," said Strickland.
Governor Strickland also said he was proud to be a part of the event, even though he lost at cornhole.
