A Walnut Hills teen ended up in jail Saturday after police say she used an obscene gesture and spit in a public place.

Cincinnati police arrested 19 year-old Desiree Davis Saturday evening on Vine Street after they say she was "flipping the bird." Court records show she also spat on the sidewalk. Police also found Davis had two outstanding warrants.

"Neighborhood Quality of Life Unified Code" is part of Title XVI of the Cincinnati Municipal Code. It was updated in 2006 and states in Section 1601-27:

"No person shall spit upon any sidewalk, street, highway, alley, the floor of any bus used for public transportation, theater, railway or public transportation depot or platform or the floor of any school house, church or public building of any kind.

Whoever violates this section is guilty of spitting in a public place, a minor misdemeanor."

The Quality of Life Unified Code also provides laws against mosquitos, weeds, and noise.

Davis is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
