On Tuesday night, the West Clermont School District's attorney will be contacting Brenda Slaby's attorney.
The West Clermont school board met in executive session Monday night to discuss the employment status of Brenda Nesselroad-Slaby.
Slaby, who's two-year-old daughter Cecilia died after she was left in a scorching hot SUV at Glen Este Middle School, is currently on paid administrative leave.
However, 9News learned that no decision was made and that the board did not take public comment.
In fact, the only formal statement made about Slaby's case was that there would be no statement.
"It has been the policy of the board to not discuss personnel matters in open session consistent with this practice the board will not answer any questions or publicly comment on the employment of Mrs. Nesselroad-Slaby," stated Dr. Gary Brooks, superintendent of West Clermont Schools.
Just as the board members voted to go into executive session. heads swiveled around to see Alex Lambros, of Union Township, try to make a statement.
"Madame chairman," Lambros called out.
Lambros, like several at the meeting, wanted to be heard by the board.
"Accident or no accident," he continued. "I see mothers and fathers go to prison for leaving the kid go outside – and we're talking a kid that died a horrible death."
There were some who defended Slaby.
Lois Noble challenged anyone who hadn't made a mistake, too.
"Step forward. It was human error," said Noble. "She did not do it intentionally, she did it accidentally. You tell me, all the other accidents where toddlers have been run over by cars and everything else."
After the board came back to open session, they adjourned immediately.
The next meeting is in two weeks.
As the board discussed Slaby's employment, a group of about 30-35 gathered at Veterans' Memorial Park for a prayer service put on by a resident who wants the investigation reopened.
