Why should we have a moment of silence? Just because he is famous? My father, who spent 12 years of his life fighting in WWII and Korea, who spent his hard earned money and time off raising the neighborhood kids through boy scouts because most of their families couldnt afford it, my father who never asked anything of his government and said after his house burned that he would rather live under a bridge than to ask for help, died of cancer in January. Where is his nationwide moment of silence? These people in hollywood and in the entertainment industry who place themselves as better than the rest of us and who often use their notariety to get preferential treatment dont deserve anything. I honestly dont know much about Ghiz... I've spent the last 28 years out defending my country, but she has it right in this case. there are worse things going on in this city that to worry about whether or not we observe a moment of silence for a suspected child molester. Sorry Wacko Jacko... no moment of silence for you!

Have you noticed the people who are first to cry "racism" are normally the racists?

It isn't to hard to figure out why smitherman is going after Ghiz. it simply because she is WHITE!! And he HATES white people. And by being the leader of a racist gang proves it. His people are out in the streets shooting and killing people. And robbing businesses DAILY, because they are to dumb and lazy to work. Yet we don't hear a word from him on ANY of it. Instead he is down at city hall trying to tell them how to run the city. When his people DESPRATELY need SOMEONE to advance them. And I don't think smitherman is the right person to advance them anyways. All he is going to do is teach them to become MORE racist and try and CONTINUE to tell them that "whitey" is to blame for holding them down....

menelik...don't think so...stop crying racism...it is getting old. I am not paying for what was done a long time ago. wa wa wa wa...stop it!!!

didbyme- All colleges where United White Colleges for hundreds of years...So much so that Black's and some well meaning whites helped to develop their own colleges an universities...stop crying cra--rs!

My turn- Ghiz represants the type of racist that we need a NAACP and Mr.Smitherman to defend the community against. We're not fooled by the hyde park manners and white women victimhood we went for that trick back in the day before we knew that was nothing but a ploy to stop black progress.

Yay4BonBCrime...you said it right!!! I can't stand it when people scream racism. There is no United White Man College...we aren't allowed to! Not that I would personally want that, but if we had it - it would be prejudice! I bet the white man will be a minority in the near future!

NAACP ?? Nobody cares about what they have to say. Nobody with any intelligence listens to them either. Wine, wine, wine about the same ol thing. Boo hoo hoo.

The NAACP should be labeled a "HATE" group just as the KKK is. Both are extremist groups that do nothing positive and only preach hate. I would venture to say that all of the "rhymin revs" have plenty of skeletons in their closets. Many are known to be quite fond of the very things they speak against. NAACP needs to start by cleaning up their own back yard before worrying about anything/anyone else. The whole racist battle cry reminds me of the little boy that cried wolf. Eventually people will wake up and see them for what they really are.

pjrecruiter, I find your sarcasm quite funny! How many council members that have opposing points of view from hers "...serve all of Cincinnati..."? This type of attitude is what is causing people to flee Cincinnati. Chris Smitherman does not "fight for the rights" of anyone with an opposing point of view, and we see daily what is left behind in the city, and what destruction Smitherman and others has caused. But, that's what keeps him in power over others, isn't it?
