FORT WRIGHT, Ky. -- St. Agnes School will celebrate its National Blue Ribbon Award with a ceremony at the school Friday.

Principal Linda Groh and Assistant Principal Judy Gilliam received the official award in ceremonies in Washington, D.C. this week.

Covington Bishop Roger Foys will celebrate the 8:30 a.m. all school liturgy. Several elected officials with ties to the school will be involved.  Rep. Alecia Webb Edgington, R-Fort Wright, is a parent of a St. Agnes student, and Fort Wright Mayor Joe Nienaber and Park Hills Mayor Mike Hellmann are both parents and graduates of St. Agnes.

Schools are designated as National Blue Ribbon Schools for academic superiority or  dramatic gains in student achievement to high levels.
