A blank wall in Clifton Heights is receiving a colorful makeover this month.

Through the MuralWorks program, ArtWorks employs teenage and professional artists to create a mural representing the community's history.

All this month artists will paint a mural on the side of a building located on Wheeler Street at McMillan.

The original design includes Hughes High School, Old St. George Church, and McMicken Hall at U-C.

"Like the pear trees, which is a pretty big symbol around here because of how they cover the cobblestone streets so a lot of symbolic things that went into this mural," said Michael Taylor with ArtWorks.

A ceremony unveiling the new mural is expected to take place next month.

MuralWorks is partnering with the Clifton Heights Improvement Association.
