MONROE, Ohio -- According to Monroe police, just after 8 p.m. last Thursday, a woman says she pulled into the Parkside Inn to talk on her cell phone.

That's when she says a man opened her driver side door, pulled her out of her car by her hair and punched her in the face.

The report says she was then shoved to the ground on her stomach. She says the man smacked her several times, before ripping her clothes and raping her.

"Clearly this is not a person that she knew,” said Detective Ken Parson, “and not something that she would have of course been expecting."

Investigators are still looking for the suspect who is described as a clean-shaven white male in his mid 30s, with a medium build between 5’6” – 5’11” tall, dark eyes and short, dark hair.

"This is a huge deal for us,” said Detective Parson. “As you can see, there are a lot of neighborhoods in the area and we want to make sure this person is caught before he can victimize anyone else."

One of the Parkside Inn residents says she's now looking around and thinking twice before stepping outside of her room.

"It's always quiet here. That's why we like it here. I mean, you have the noise of the traffic, but when you door is closed, you're secluded,” said Derrikka Manning. ”That's your peace and quiet, and to even hear that a woman got hurt here is unbelievable."

If you have any information, you're asked to call the Monroe Police Department at (513) 539-9234 or call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040 or text (513) 352-3050.
