The L.A. Times is reporting that Michael Jackson was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon.

At 7:25 p.m. (EST) CNN reported they had confirmation that the Los Angeles Coroner had pronounced him dead.

A few minutes later in a phone interview,  Lt. Fred Corrall, the Los Angeles Coroner, told CNN that Jackson had been non-responsive when he arrived at the hospital and that he was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time).

The coroner said an autopsy will be conducted, possibly tomorrow, to determine what may have contributed to Jackson's death.

Earlier the LA Times reported that they were told by both city and law enforcement sources that the "King of Pop" was pronounced dead by doctors after arriving at the hospital in a deep coma.

The Associated Press also reported that "a person with knowledge of the situation says Michael Jackson has died."

Mike von Fremd with ABC News was at UCLA Medical Center Thursday. He says that family members tell him Jackson collapsed Thursday afternoon in his home.

The L.A. Times reports Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home around 12:30 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time).

Jackson, 50, was a twice-divorced father of three.

Channel 9 will air ABC's one-hour special on Michael Jackson tonight at 9 p.m
